Other PDF tools

Edit PDF online without uploading it. This PDF editor runs in your browser: open a file, change the text and images on the page, add notes or a signature, and download the result. Nothing leaves your device.

How to edit PDF online without uploading

  1. Choose PDF file, or drop the PDF anywhere on this page.
  2. Pick Edit content on the tool rail and click the text you want to change; type the new text and press Apply.
  3. To move, resize or recolour a text or image object, select it and use the handles or the Properties panel.
  4. Use Add text or Insert image to put new content on the page.
  5. Press Export and choose PDF with all edits to download the file.

Why it is private

The file is opened by PDFium compiled to WebAssembly, running in a worker inside your browser tab. Every edit and the final export happen on your device; the PDF is never sent to a server. A working copy is kept in your browser's private storage so you can recover unsaved work after a crash, and you can delete it in Settings.

What you can do

Included

  • Change existing text in place when the PDF's font can encode the new characters
  • Add text boxes, insert PNG or JPEG images, move, resize, recolour and delete objects
  • Undo and redo every step; autosave and crash recovery
  • Export a standard PDF that opens in any reader

Limits

  • Text whose font cannot be edited in place is rebuilt in replacement mode with a fallback font (Noto Sans); the editor tells you first
  • No paragraph reflow: other lines do not move when you change one
  • Text inside form XObjects and Type 3 fonts cannot be edited in place

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. The PDF tools are free to use. There is no account, no payment and no watermark.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and edited inside your browser with WebAssembly. The only network requests are for the tool's own files, and the optional cloud conversion is off by default and shows the destination before anything is sent.

Can I edit the existing text or only add new text?

Both. Existing text is edited in place when its font supports the new characters. Otherwise the editor rebuilds that text with a fallback font and shows a notice so you know the appearance may change.

Does it work offline after loading?

Yes. Once a tool has loaded with a connection, the site keeps it cached and you can use it again without one. The site can also be installed as a web app from your browser.

What is the maximum file size?

Files up to 1 GB are accepted. Very large files depend on your device's memory, and some undo steps are skipped above 48 MB to keep the editor responsive.

Can I open password-protected PDFs?

Yes. You are asked for the password when the file opens. The password is used on your device only and is never stored.
