Sign PDF without uploading it. Draw your signature with a mouse or finger, type it, or upload an image of it, place it on the page and download the signed file. The document never leaves your browser.
How to sign PDF without uploading
- Choose PDF file, or drop the PDF on this page. The Signature tool is active when the file opens.
- Click on the page where the signature belongs. In the Add signature dialog, Draw it, Type your name, or Upload an image; tick Save for later use on this device if you want to reuse it.
- Press Insert, then drag the signature to the exact spot and resize it with the handles.
- Press Export and choose Flattened PDF so the signature becomes part of the page, or PDF with all edits to keep it movable.
Why it is private
The signature is turned into an image and written into the PDF by PDFium running as WebAssembly in your browser. Saved signatures are stored only in your browser's local storage on this device. The document and your signature are never uploaded.
What you can do
Included
- Draw, type or upload a signature and reuse saved ones
- Place, move and resize the signature on any page
- Flatten on export so the signature cannot be moved
- Fill form fields and add dates or notes in the same session
Limits
- This is a visual signature image, not a cryptographic digital signature; it does not certify the document
- If the PDF already carries a digital signature, editing it will invalidate that signature; the tool warns you
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
- Yes. The PDF tools are free to use. There is no account, no payment and no watermark.
Are my files uploaded?
- No. The signature is drawn and placed inside your browser. The only network requests are for the tool's own files, and the optional cloud conversion is off by default and shows the destination before anything is sent.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
- The tool adds a visual signature image. Whether that is acceptable depends on the document and jurisdiction; it is not a certificate-based digital signature.
Where are saved signatures stored?
- In your browser's local storage on this device only. They are not synced anywhere and you can delete them in the signature dialog.
Does it work offline after loading?
- Yes. Once a tool has loaded with a connection, the site keeps it cached and you can use it again without one. The site can also be installed as a web app from your browser.
Does it work on a phone?
- The tool loads in mobile browsers, but the editing workspace is laid out for tablet and desktop screens. On a phone it is cramped; a screen at least 1024 px wide works best.
